A complete beginner piano course across 14 units, built with method-book pacing (one concept per lesson, one lesson per class period). Every lesson opens with a “Today I can…” activator, then a hands-on task: explore the keys, read the note runway, or compose your own music. Pass at 70% to unlock the next lesson.
Two players, one piano, like HORSE in basketball. 🔵 Blue team invents a short lick (2 to 8 notes), then 🔴 Red team copies it note for note, then they swap. Copies match by LETTER, so a small player can echo at their own end of the keyboard. 10 points a note, 20-point bonus for a perfect echo.
One song on the staff, two teams on one piano: 🔵 Blue team owns the LOW half (below middle C), 🔴 Red team owns the HIGH half. The same written note gets a blue mark when Blue plays its letter down low, and a red mark when Red plays it up high. The song only moves on when BOTH teams have it. 10 points a note; fewest misses breaks a tie in spirit.
70% earns a star and unlocks the next lesson · 80% two stars · 90% three. Unit 1 explores the keyboard, Unit 2 turns it into staff reading, Unit 3 sets your hands and ears, Unit 4 brings rhythm and your first songs, Units 5 and 6 add time signatures, rests and new hand positions, Units 7 and 8 open the keys of G and F with real scales, Unit 9 puts chords under the melody with both hands, and Unit 10 graduates you with a recital and your own composition.

Rests are drawn with real whole/half/quarter/eighth rest shapes. Hold still while they cross the line to keep your streak and earn bonus points. Course lessons introduce rests officially in Lesson 13.7.

Microphone mode LISTENS to your real acoustic piano and hears which note you play, so no cable is needed. It reads ONE NOTE AT A TIME: chords will not register. It wants one piano in a reasonably quiet room, so a room of pianos playing at once will confuse it. The stop-and-go lessons suit it perfectly because they wait for you. Your browser will ask permission once.
Slide RIGHT if you have to play hard for notes to register. Slide LEFT if a quiet room triggers false notes. Headphones help a lot in mic mode.
Reading Mode works like real sheet music: the notes stay put on the page and the gold line travels across them, four measures at a time. Played notes turn green, missed notes turn red. Great once the runway feels easy.
Classic is the default: notes look exactly as they do in printed sheet music. Switch to Arcade Neon any time for game-night energy.
Play any stretch of the piece on its own. Backwards practice starts with the LAST measure, and every time you pass it adds the measure before, so you are always playing toward the part you already know.
Bigger buttons and words, directions read out loud, letters on the notes, a slower tempo, a wider timing window, and gentler results. Turn it off any time.
Timing lessons only: a voice counts with the click, the way a grown-up counts next to you. On by default in Little learner mode.

A second system under the one you are playing shows what comes next, so you read ahead instead of meeting a page turn blind. The notation is drawn a little smaller to fit both. Turn this off for the largest possible notes.
On an uploaded song, each note sounds quietly as it reaches the play line so you can hear what comes next and lock to the tempo. Turns itself off in microphone mode.
A USB keyboard needs the top choice. The microphone is only for a real acoustic piano with no cable: it listens to one note at a time and can be confused by other sounds.
A small keyboard reaches two or three octaves at a time and has OCT − / OCT + buttons to move its window. The app checks each lesson fits, tells you where to set the window, and if the octave gets bumped by accident it notices after two notes and corrects for you.
